  1. Home maintenance is not only restricted to repairs but to regular inspection of your accommodations as well. Inspect windows and doors for caulking and weathering stripping, and vinyl sidings for cracks or bubbles from changing weather. Use extreme caution in accessing your roof or have a professional to help you do it every 3 to 5 years because regular maintenance sets you away from big expenses along the way.

  2. Don’t forget to inspect your sidings too. Colored streaks are signs of leaks. Follow the streak to the source and be sure to seal it up to prevent the wood sidings from decaying and rotting.

  3. Be sure to keep tabs on your roof too! This is one of our home’s main defenses against heat, rain and other harsh weather conditions. It would be advisable to apply roof coating, whether you have metal roof or shingles, as it would keep your roof protected from the elements, and it would aid in stretching the roof’s service life.

  4. I agree with Lino. The roof is one of the home’s first lines of defense against extreme conditions. That is why it is advisable to perform a monthly inspection of the roof. Inspection will prompt you to do some maintenance and repair on the roof whenever necessary.

  5. Joanne Barragan is spot on. Maintaining the roof before fall arrives is essential because you wouldn’t want to have leaky roofs during rainy seasons. Check for small nicks, damage, and holes on your roof since they can wear more and cause a big problem through time.
