Remarkably Artistic Lighting Designs
Lighting probably plays the most important role in good design practice. Once you know what type of lighting you need, be it task, ambient and/or accent lighting, you can use it to good effect to change the mood of a room. Here are some fancy lights that push the very concept of what lights can be.
The Coffee Lights are very humorous and give the shades a soft glow while offering the practicality of task lighting in the kitchen. Designed by Anthology Quartett
The Liquid Lamp tells a very animated story of a clumsy moment in time suspended in motion.

Pouring Light Lamp was intended to show the illusory effect of light pouring out of this shade. Is it working? Designed by Yeongwoo Kim
This lamp can be reconfigured by disconnecting the light boxes. The pieces are held together by magnets!

The Bulb S suspension lamp is bright and colorful, but soft and warm at once! Manufactured by Alt Lucialternative
This Sense Co. night table lamp is awesome for the simple fact that it holds scented oil with the dual purpose of aroma therapy.

This 'Grass Lamp' provides ambient lighting with an environmentally friendly agenda- to grow grass!

Beautiful Roof Gardens and Landscape Designs
We came across some interesting landscape designing concepts from London based designers MyLandscapes. Whether you're a city dweller or a southern bell, we know everyone enjoys a place where they can sit, relax and self-reflect. So we are sure that you will appreciate the beautiful contemporary roof top terraces and gardens we have featured below. Assuming they will probably leave you curious to know more about the achievement of mastery in the great design and mood of these outdoor spaces, we'll provide you with some guidelines that will help you design your own landscapes and create garden scenes that you and your loved ones can enjoy for years, using essential elements to create that WOW factor.
Let's begin shall we
Lighting plays a serious role in creating depth and composition, setting a mood, providing security and highlighting a pathway. One way to achieve high drama is to use subtle accent up-lights to feature a beautiful wall, sculpture or tree.
For a modern edge, you can use white rocks or sand to create contrast against the foliage by highlighting the plant forms and colors in your garden.
Rock gardens are good for the green-thumb challenged and provide a beautiful organic element to an otherwise stark modern space.
Sculptures are a nice way to create a focal point and add interest with upscale style!
Fountains are a sure way to evoke peace and tranquility throughout your space!
Consider using perennials first so that your garden will look good with or without annual plants. Pine trees can be really ornate (ever see Edward Scissorhands?) and will stay green all year round! Also, using potted plants and actually planting will add texture and height variation.
Before you get started, take measurements and create a plan that will help you allocate your budget for materials as well as figure where to place plants, fountains, ornaments, walkways and seating areas in your garden. Take into account the flow of traffic and how you will define the space as well, whether by fence, wall, trees, etc.

Cottage Style Interiors
To go along with our fairy tale cottage theme homes(in case you simply can't get enough), we've employed a few hobbits to report back after a sneak peek into homes with the coolest cottage interiors. Not surprisingly, what they found was the same charming, rustic and humble interiors that we have all come to know and love through the pages of our fairy tale storybooks. And the formula remains the same! Cottage design is done with an instinctive eye, the bare essentials, and a cozy inviting charm that captures the spirit of making a house a home.
Traditional cottage homes stay true to the abundance of wood from the floors to the walls and ceilings. And sometimes, the wood is painted white for a brighter perspective. The more contemporary cottages use stucco or stone inside and out to provide a stronger and more temperate foundation. And the furnishing are almost always antique and unfinished, also made of wood or wicker! All we know is once you lay your eyes on these spaces, you may want to start looking in Grandma's attic for sweet finds that will instantly give your home some character! Enjoy

Stockholm Office Built in Old Bomb Shelter!
Ocassionally, we drop articles featuring astounding Office spaces like this or that, which are either designed like no other or simply built into an amazing space.
In Stockholm, Sweden (somewhere probably very inconspicuous) there is a cavernous lair that was once used as a Bomb Shelter and Bahnhof is a Swedish internet provider that managed to conceive great use of this highly improbable commercial space with the help of Albert France-Lanord (A)rchitects. With the original and organic granite paths of the Vita Berg Park, a tour through this space must feel like an exotic nature walk in the midst a futuristic time warp, all at once. Just imagine what it is like to work there

Amazing Ranch Style House Design by m.o. daby design
This house is bringing a new charm and life to the old 1950s ranch style homes. This magic design was worked by M.O.Daby on the Burke Residence. This amazing house is set upped in Portland, OR. Finished in wood from outside in, this house was looking for a complementary receiving area. This helped the designer to add an entrance foyer to its existing footprint. The living areas, kitchen, dining room as well as the family room were given open concept treatment to a space best for socializing and entertaining. The well planned open style layout of this house will also allow the entire space to flood with natural light through a glass wall.
